Indian Stock Market Updates July 2, 2018

BATA INDIA at All Time High; BSE FMCG Index Down 0.4%

BATA INDIA share price has hit an all-time high at Rs 865 (up 0.52%).

Meanwhile, the BSE FMCG Index is at 11,259 (down 0.41%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE FMCG Index today are BATA INDIA (up 0.52%) and P&G HYGIENE (up 1.15%)

VENKYS (I) LIMITED (down 0.04%) and FUTURE CONSUMER (down 0.30%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, BATA INDIA has moved up from Rs 530 to Rs 865, registering a gain of Rs 335 (up 63.08%).

The BSE FMCG has moved up from 10,200 to 11,259, registering a gain of 1,059 points (up 9.49%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE FMCG Index stocks during this same period were RADICO KHAITAN (up 236.00%), TATA GLOBAL BEV. (up 82.62%) and BRITANNIA (up 71.79%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 35,578 (down 0.15%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are TATA STEEL (up 2.14%), BAJAJ AUTO (up 1.96%) and TATA MOTORS DVR (up 1.70%). Other gainers include HERO MOTOCORP (up 1.41%) and TATA MOTORS (up 1.32%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are TATA MOTORS and TATA STEEL.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 10,736 (down 0.21%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include BAJAJ AUTO (up 2.73%), TATA MOTORS (up 1.91%) and TECH MAHINDRA (up 1.21%). Other gainers include INFOSYS LTD (up 1.08%) and UPL LIMITED (up 1.05%).

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 30,858 to 35,578, registering a gain of 4,720 points (up 14.63%).

BATA INDIA Financial Update...

BATA INDIA net profit declined 23.6% YoY to Rs 521 million for the quarter ended March 2018, compared to a loss of Rs 682 million a year ago. Net Sales declined 6.2% to Rs 6.3 billion during the period as against Rs 6.7 billion in January-March 2017.

For the year ended March 2017, BATA INDIA reported 26.6% increase in net profit to Rs 1.8 billion compared to net profit of Rs 1.4 billion during FY16.

Revenue of the company grew 2.0% to Rs 25 billion during FY17.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BATA INDIA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 49.6x.
