I came across an interesting chart last weekend of the two-wheeler sales volumes for the year and month gone by. Eicher Motors killed it in this period! Two-wheeler sales volumes for the company grew by 52% in FY16. In comparison, sales for market leaders Hero MotoCorp and Honda were flat.

Even though Eicher Motor's two-wheeler brand Royal Enfield has a marginal 4% share of the Indian two-wheeler market, its performance has caught the attention of the rest of the industry.

Bajaj Motors MD Rajiv Bajaj commented on this a few days ago. As reported in Business Standard, Bajaj Auto is mulling entry in the 350-600 cc space - the segment in which Eicher is largely present and has a near monopoly. Giving his views, Mr. Bajaj said:
