Markets trade on a flat note

Indian markets retreated from early losses as BSE-Sensex and NSE-Nifty were trading marginally lower. Banking stocks have gained the maximum with the sector up by over 1%. Consumer durables and oil and gas sector stocks have also shown robust strength during this trading session. IT sector has been the biggest loser in today's trading session. S&P BSE Midcap and S&P BSE Smallcap cap stocks have gained 0.5% and 0.7%, respectively.

Commodities are trading with moderate losses as gold prices fell 0.2% or Rs 53 while silver prices have fallen 0.6% or Rs 205. Gold prices, per 10 grams, are trading at Rs 26,490 levels while silver prices, per kilogram, is available at Rs 36,120 levels. Crude oil prices, per barrel, increased about 1% or Rs 31 and are available at Rs 3,373. The Indian Rupee declined against the Dollar value by 0.14% or 0.09 and is currently available at Rs 62.42.

Real estate/construction stocks witnessed a volatile trading session today. Atlanta and PVP Ventures have gained the maximum in today's trade. KNR Constructions gained over 6% after it became a recipient of an order which is worth Rs 7.29 bn. The award has been presented by the Tamil Nadu government. It involves solely up-gradation of roads.

Oil & gas sector stocks gained over 1% in today's session. Shares of Gujarat Gas Company spiked nearly 14% after the company got a green light to kick-start operations in Thane, Dadra & Nagar Haveli. The company received a go ahead authorization from the regulatory board that controls petroleum and natural gas to set up its own gas network. Shares of RIL gained over 1.5% and ONGC gained over 3%.
