HPCL share price has plunged 6% and is presently trading at Rs 329.1.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 26,133.9 (down 1.3%).

Among the top losers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are Petronet LNG (down 4.5%) and BPCL (down 3.6%).

ADANI TOTAL GAS (up 10.4%) and GUJARAT GAS (up 4.8%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, HPCL has moved up from Rs 325.5 to Rs 329.1, registering a gain of Rs 3.6 (up 1.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 23,676.7 to 26,133.9, registering a gain of 10.4% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were IOC (up 16.4%), ONGC (up 15.9%) and Reliance Ind. (up 12.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 75,017.0 (down 2.2%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are HDFC Bank (down 4.7%) and L&T (down 3.4%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and HDFC Bank.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,271.0 (down 2.1%). HDFC Bank and Shriram Transport are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 74,170.0 to 75,017.0, registering a gain of 847.1 points (up 1.1%).

HPCL Financial Update...

HPCL net profit grew 29.3% YoY to Rs 38,904 million for the quarter ended December 2025, compared to a profit of Rs 30,082 million a year ago. Net sales rose 4.7% to Rs 1,245,827 million during the period as against Rs 1,190,405 million in October-December 2024.

For the year ended March 2025, HPCL reported 57.9% decrease in net profit to Rs 67,357 million compared to net profit of Rs 160,146 million during FY24. Revenue of the company fell 1.0% to Rs 4,014,887 million during FY25.

The current Price to earnings ratio of HPCL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 4.7.
