Oil India Gains 8%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 3.3%

Oil India share price has zoomed 8% and is presently trading at Rs 485.3.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 27,910.5 (up 3.3%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are ONGC (up 7.0%) and Petronet LNG (up 4.0%).

ADANI TOTAL GAS (down 0.6%) is among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Oil India has moved up from Rs 451.5 to Rs 485.3, registering a gain of Rs 33.8 (up 7.5%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 25,776.2 to 27,910.5, registering a gain of 8.3% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were BPCL (up 34.1%), IOC (up 24.8%) and HPCL (up 18.7%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 82,281.4 (up 0.5%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Axis Bank (up 2.4%) and Eternal Ltd (up 1.4%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Bajaj Finserv and Eternal Ltd.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,289.8 (up 0.5%). ONGC and Coal India are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 76,520.4 to 82,281.4, registering a gain of 5,761.0 points (up 7.5%).

Oil India Financial Update...

Oil India net profit fell 21.9% YoY to Rs 14,403 million for the quarter ended September 2025, compared to a profit of Rs 18,432 million a year ago. Net sales rose 12.8% to Rs 91,754 million during the period as against Rs 81,359 million in July-September 2024.

For the year ended March 2025, Oil India reported 0.8% increase in net profit to Rs 70,396 million compared to net profit of Rs 69,805 million during FY24. Revenue of the company grew 0.8% to Rs 288,612 million during FY25.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Oil India, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 12.9.
