Petronet LNG Plunges 4%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 1.4%

Petronet LNG share price has plunged 4% and is presently trading at Rs 278.3.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 26,124.0 (down 1.4%).

Among the top losers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are HPCL (down 5.7%) and BPCL (down 3.6%).

ADANI TOTAL GAS (up 11.0%) and GUJARAT GAS (up 4.4%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, Petronet LNG has moved down from Rs 284.2 to Rs 278.3, registering a loss of Rs 5.9 (down 2.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 23,676.7 to 26,124.0, registering a gain of 10.3% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were IOC (up 16.5%), ONGC (up 15.8%) and Reliance Ind. (up 12.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 75,002.4 (down 2.2%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are HDFC Bank (down 4.8%) and Eternal Ltd (down 3.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and HDFC Bank.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,271.0 (down 2.1%). HDFC Bank and Shriram Transport are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 74,170.0 to 75,002.4, registering a gain of 832.4 points (up 1.1%).

Petronet LNG Financial Update...

Petronet LNG net profit fell 2.4% YoY to Rs 8,455 million for the quarter ended December 2025, compared to a profit of Rs 8,666 million a year ago. Net sales declined 8.7% to Rs 111,638 million during the period as against Rs 122,269 million in October-December 2024.

For the year ended March 2025, Petronet LNG reported 10.1% increase in net profit to Rs 38,839 million compared to net profit of Rs 35,270 million during FY24. Revenue of the company fell 3.3% to Rs 509,820 million during FY25.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Petronet LNG, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 11.8.
