Oil India Gains 5%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 1.1%

Oil India share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 515.8.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 28,382.8 (up 1.1%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are GUJARAT GAS (up 3.0%) and Indraprastha Gas (up 2.7%).

ADANI TOTAL GAS (down 0.8%) and Reliance Ind. (down 0.4%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Oil India has moved up from Rs 406.6 to Rs 515.8, registering a gain of Rs 109.3 (up 26.9%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 24,572.7 to 28,382.8, registering a gain of 15.5% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were BPCL (up 38.7%), IOC (up 31.9%) and HPCL (up 25.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 81,943.0 (down 0.5%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Maruti Suzuki (down 3.0%) and Asian Paints (down 2.3%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Eternal Ltd.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,180.7 (down 0.6%). SBI LIFE INSURANCE and Maruti Suzuki are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 75,366.2 to 81,943.0, registering a gain of 6,576.8 points (up 8.7%).

Oil India Financial Update...

Oil India net profit fell 21.9% YoY to Rs 14,403 million for the quarter ended September 2025, compared to a profit of Rs 18,432 million a year ago. Net sales rose 12.8% to Rs 91,754 million during the period as against Rs 81,359 million in July-September 2024.

For the year ended March 2025, Oil India reported 0.8% increase in net profit to Rs 70,396 million compared to net profit of Rs 69,805 million during FY24. Revenue of the company grew 0.8% to Rs 288,612 million during FY25.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Oil India, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 13.7.
