Amazon's growth story since its listing in 1997 is stunning to say the least. Valued at US$ 438 million then, it has gone up more than 1,700 times and is valued at US$ 747 billion today.
Its revenues have grown from US$ 24 billion to US$ 177 billion in 2017, a CAGR growth of 28% over 8 years.
The e-commerce giant recently overtook Alphabet (Google) to become the second largest US company in terms of market capitalisation.
With a 33% market share of the US e-commerce market, Amazon is expected to reach 50% by 2021.
No wonder, companies across industries and geographies are concerned about the wave of disruption that might hit them in the future.
