Within the BSE Basic Materials Index, the top gainers were MOIL (up 10.7%) and NEOGEN CHEMICALS (up 10.7%). On the other hand, DALMIA BHARAT (down 7.9%) and MANGALAM ORGANICS (down 4.5%) were among the top losers.

The BSE commodities index comprises constituents of the BSE Allcap index, that are classified under the basic materials or commodities sector.
The basic materials sector includes companies engaged in the discovery, development, and processing of raw materials. The sector includes companies engaged in mining and metal refining, chemical products, and forestry products.
This index was originally known as BSE basic material sector, which was later updated to BSE commodities index.
The index is calculated using a float-adjusted market cap weighted methodology.
